![]() It is generally agreed that high torque motors are quieter than normal motors, but these are also more expensive, so you won’t find them in most AEGs. ![]() The thump is heard when the piston hits the cylinder head.ĪEG motors can have different sounds as they come in a variety of shapes and power outputs. Most of the sound comes from the electric motor spinning the 3 cogs in the gearbox. If you’ve never heard an AEG before, you shouldn’t expect anything too realistic, as they usually make a whining sound, followed by a small thump. AEG noise levelsĪs mentioned above, AEGs are louder than spring guns, as they have more moving parts and can develop higher power output. The noise a springer makes is around 95 dB, depending on the power of the spring and the materials used in the piston assembly. When the trigger is pulled, the spring pushes forward a piston that compresses air which propels the BB out of the barrel. These guns need to be cocked after each shot, compressing the spring. They tend to have lower power output than electric or gas guns and fewer moving parts, which makes their operation less loud. Spring powered airsoft replicas are generally the quietest. In addition, I’ve added a few tips for making your airsoft gun quieter (or louder) if that is what you are here for. Each one has a distinctive sound, so you could probably tell what gun a player you encounter on the field is using. These have been sorted according to the power source – spring, electric or gas. The paragraphs below will cover the difference in sound between the main types of airsoft replicas. As I am not very good at the technical side, I couldn’t tell you which gearbox has lower operating sound, but it probably varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Another thing to keep in mind is that AK replicas use Version 3 gearboxes, while M4s use a Version 2 gearbox. The M4 has a slight whine when fired, probably coming from the motor. Cyma CM.076A AK – 98 dB – the gun is brand new, never used in a game, using a 9.6 V NiMH battery.īoth AKs shoot a little hot and the prevalent noise seems to come from the cylinder head.Cyma CM.077D AK – 96 dB – the gun has had the motor replaced and the gearbox has been shimmed, using a 9.6 V NiMH battery.Specna Arms S04 Edge Series M4 – 95 dB – the gun is stock and uses a 7.4 V LiPo battery. The measuring was done inside a small room I use for storage, so the results may not be entirely accurate. Using such an app I measured the three AEGs I currently own. A cheaper alternative (maybe even free) would be to just install a sound meter app on your smartphone as that can offer a pretty good idea on how loud your airsoft gun is. If you do want one, you can probably get a good model for around 22$ on Amazon (affiliate link). However, not everyone has such a device lying around the house and getting one just for airsoft purposes probably doesn’t make much sense. The obvious way of measuring the sound of an airsoft gun is by using a decibel meter. Measuring the sound of an airsoft replica This, of course, can vary depending on the type of firearm and the caliber, but it is definitely louder than an airsoft replica. A regular firearm emits something like 140 dB. To put this into perspective, your ears would experience pain at around 125 dB, while at noise above 180 dB your hearing tissue begins to die. As mentioned before, an airsoft replica is probably around 90-100 dB when fired. With the rough figures out of the way, we can now check out some specifics for noise levels. Gas and HPA powered guns are loudest at around 99 dB, AEGs are a bit quieter at around 95 dB, while springers get around 84 dB. In this range, they are safe to use even without hearing protection. Based on the firing mechanism, some replicas are louder than others. Let’s take a look at some numbers to see exactly how loud airsoft guns are.Īirsoft guns are as loud as a regular TV program, which is around 90-95 decibels (dB). Needless to say, more expensive guns tend to have higher quality parts, which are put together with lower tolerances and this makes them quieter. Second of all, the quality of the gun should be considered, as it can have an impact on how quiet or loud the replica functions. First of all, you need to take into account the type of replica you are dealing with, meaning how it is powered – spring, electric or gas, as each of these has its specific operating noise. If you’ve been wondering about the noise output of airsoft replicas, you need to know a bit about the factors which influence the sound. From experience, the feature I think is unique is the automatic one click processing. Notice how it doesn't compare itself to other software, it just promotes itself. Most hate it because it tries too hard to sell itself when other free open source tools also exist and do the same. I also read on a few other forums users' opinions of jpegmini. Extremely handy! I only wish it showed more of the tool's internal options. I used to have a script for compressing PNGs with PNGOUT but now RIOT allows to process them in batch. I tried the tool the user posted on this thread but it produced some weird results, on a few images it cropped the picture by a few pixels. Messing with the Chroma and Luma channels is something nearly every jpeg compressing tool does and I'd like to know which one I'm using to compare their features. I liked RIOT very much but I wish it showed which external tools it uses besides the PNG ones. ![]() Hopefully being open source means others will step up with with cool new ideas. I'm sure there are a ton of optimizations to be made, but to be totally honest my math and C programming skills are not the best. if it's a picture of clouds then lower the quality slightly and if it's an intricate building then increase the quality a bit. One thing I would like to add is some measure of overall image complexity, e.g. what's the average pixel value, how do the pixels vary, what's the relationship between the original variance and the reference block variance, etc. The algorithm I use is SSIM, which works by measuring relationships between pixels in 8x8 blocks, e.g. I haven't read the patents (and won't due to possibly tainting my own code with information from them). JPEGmini actually uses some custom patented algorithm for perceived image quality. That's much better than throwing away too much. Luckily it errs on the side of caution and throws away less data than JPEGmini. I think the groups of solid colors are problematic. ![]() Thanks! Our findings could have an important implication in future studies of RF cardiac ablation, in particular, in choosing the most suitable method to model the thermal effect of circulating blood. Considering the aspects of lesion size and maximum temperature reached in blood and tissue, Method 2 seems to be the most suitable alternative to Method 4 in order to reduce the computational complexity. The other three methods predicted lesion depth values similar to those of the reference method (differences smaller than 1 mm), regardless of ablation mode and blood flow conditions. Only Method 4 provided a realistic blood temperature distribution. Method 4) included blood motion and was considered to be a reference method for comparison purposes. Three of them considered convective coefficients at the electrode-blood and tissue-blood interfaces to model blood flow: 1) without including blood as a part of the domain 2) constant electrical conductivity of blood and 3) temperature-dependent electrical conductivity of blood (+2%/☌). ![]() Four methods of modeling the effect of circulating blood flow on lesion dimensions and temperature distribution were compared. Computational models were built to study the temperature distributions and lesion dimensions created by a nonirrigated electrode by two RF energy delivery protocols (constant voltage and constant temperature) under high and low blood flow conditions. Our aim was to compare the different methods of modeling the effect of circulating blood flow on the thermal lesion dimensions created by radio frequency (RF) cardiac ablation and on the maximum blood temperature. ![]()
Roku’s lineup has a pretty clear hierarchy. Read our Roku TV review.īut wait - which of these is the best Roku device? The Roku TV line comes in various models, sizes, and resolutions, from 720p all the way up to 4K. Roku has partnered with several TV manufacturers, including TCL, to create smart TVs with the Roku platform built right in. It also allows you to connect an Ethernet cable, which can be useful if you’re dealing with slow Wi-Fi. The swankiest external Roku device adds fancy features like the ability to connect headphones to the remote for private listening. Nearly as feature-laden as the Roku Ultra, the Streaming Stick+ is arguably the sweet spot in price and performance. The Premiere is 4K-capable, an impressive feat at this price. Roku’s entry-level device is an affordable way to get Roku’s wonderful user experience. The difference is in the specs: Just as it is with iPhones, some Roku devices are bigger, stronger, and faster than others. It’s a bit like it is with iPhones: You may have an iPhone 12, and I may have an iPhone 11, but we’ll still both go to the App Store to get our apps. Keep in mind that all Roku devices run the same Roku “platform.” They’ll support the same apps and have similar user experiences. You have lots of choices when it comes to Roku. Roku also now has its own smart TVs, which come with the Roku experience built right in - no “streaming stick” or “streaming box” required. Many of Roku’s devices still plug into existing TVs, just like the original Roku device did. It was basically a little computer that existed just to play Netflix (and other streaming services), and it plugged into the TV just like a DVR player or video game system would. Roku made a little device that would plug into your TV and play Netflix. They want to watch it on their TV!Įnter Roku. Netflix was letting its customers stream movies and TV shows online, but it had a problem: People don’t usually want to watch TV on their computer. Back in 2007, Netflix branched out from its “DVD rentals by mail” business and released its streaming service. The easiest way to think about Roku is to remember why it exists in the first place. We’ll cover it all below! What is Roku?įirst things first: What is a Roku, anyway? Roku keeps things simple, but there are still a few things you should know. Roku’s popular devices run the Roku “platform,” which makes it easy to keep streaming apps organized and stream the shows and movies you love on just about any TV. The second part of the equation - streaming devices - is where we’ll find Roku. Netflix, Hulu, and the rest of the streaming services have that first part covered pretty well. Also check Roku documentation to find out more about onKeyEvent() function. To enjoy streaming, you’ll need two things: A streaming service and something to watch it on. You would need to set up focus as well when customComponentView becomes visible with: m.tFocus(true) In onKeyEvent() function when button "Ok" is pressed on the remote, you can control which View is visible with: m.defaultView.visible = false M.labelList = m.top.findNode(customComponent) M.customComponentView = m.top.findNode(customComponentView) Also in Scene init() initialize your Views and components first with : m.defaultView = m.top.findNode(defaultView) What you need to do is to add onKeyEvent() function in your Scene.brs file (in you Scene script if you are doing everything from. So the big question is: How to go from a defaultView that consist only from label to the customComponentView that will have this Label List?Simple really, you just need to hide one and show the other. Now in your Scene.xml file as a child you should add this: M.top.backgroundURI = "pkg:/images/rsgde_bg_hd.jpg"Įxample = m.top.findNode("exampleLabelList")Įanslation = In your LabelListExample.brs add this sub init() ![]() In your components folder Create two separate files LabelListExample.brs and LabelListExample.xml. So all of your custom Components need to be added to the XML file of that Scene. In your main.brs file, Roku Screen is created with screen = CreateObject("roSGScreen"), from that Screen a Scene is created with scene = screen.CreateScene("Scene"). I think you need to understand a SceneGraph API a little better so you could understand how to do this. From BrightScript, how do I open the following LabelList on a new screen ( not the Main screen/scene)? |
